Warehouse Associate – Night Operations (all positions)

Standard Beverage is currently hiring immediately for all night-shift warehouse positions in our Lawrence, Kansas distribution center. Our night-shift employees enjoy a 4-day work week, Monday thru Thursday nights, with weekends off! Shift runs from approximately 5:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Open positions include:

· Forklift drivers- (Forklift experience required)

· Oddball pickers (Cherry Picker experience required)

· Loaders

· Full-Case conveyor line pickers

· Bottle-Line pickers

Job responsibilities may include:

· Accurately picking orders on pick lines using printed pick labels, RF guns or voice command software

· Placing individual cases onto conveyor lines while maintaining product quality

· Operating a fork lift or cherry picker to pull product (forklift driver positions only)

· Operating a forklift to replenish picking locations and move product throughout the warehouse

· Loading product securely onto trailers by floor stacking cases and pallets

· Utilize electric pallet jack to load pallets on trailers

· Cross-training and working other departments as necessary

· Meeting all productivity requirements

· Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area

· Following standard operating procedures and adhering to all safety standards

· General housekeeping and sanitation tasks will be required

Requirements:

· Must be able to report for all assigned shifts

· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly and stand/walk continuously for 8-10 hours

· Must be able to perform tasks efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment

· Must be able to communicate and interact well with coworkers and managers

· Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment. Temperatures in our warehouse may vary between seasons.

· Must be at least 18 years old

· Employment contingent upon pre-employment drug screening and background screening

Job Description

We are searching for an experienced Maintenance Technician who is adept at troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing automated conveyor and sortation equipment. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge and mechanical aptitude for working in multiple arenas of material handling maintenance. Candidates must have at least 3 years of proven experience as a maintenance technician working with Intelligrated, Hytrol, Dematic or Rapistan conveyance and sortation equipment. Experience with EZLogic zero-pressure logic, PLC or pneumatic logic components is also preferred. The shift runs Monday thru Thursday night from 5:30 PM until 4:00 AM. Minimal overtime may be required based on business needs.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Inspect, monitor, repair and maintain material handling equipment such as conveyor systems, spirals, motors, belts, chains, rollers, brakes, photo eyes, PLC controls, air compressors and other material handling equipment.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives on all material handling equipment to mitigate risk of failure and down time.
  • Examine and adjust tensioners, rollers, air lines, protective guards and other specified safety devices.
  • Maintain parts inventory and tracking to ensure accurate backstock of critical spare parts.
  • Daily reporting and documentation of system staus and work performed.
  • Work in accordance with all company safety initiatives and policies.
  • Perform other job-realted duties as assigned.
  • Help ensure the cleanliness and safety of the facility.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities)

  • 3+ years experience in material handling maintenance
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in engineering or another technical field)
  • Demonstrated understanding of automated conveyor systems, as well as PLC and EZ-Logic controls software
  • Knowledge on repairing belts, chains, conveyors, motors, rollers, pumps and hydraulics
  • Advanced electrical skills
  • Lock-out/tag-out knowledge
  • Ability to read control cabinet and conveyor schematics and drawings
  • Ability to develop maintain maintenance logs and SOP’s
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment such as scissor lifts, fork lifts, cherry pickers and stock chasers
  • Requires frequent lifting, walking, standing, crouching, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, push, raise, pull or move up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful completion of training courses in Hytrol, Rapistan, Dematic or Intelligrated conveyor systems
  • Experience with Intelligrated conveyor systems is a plus
  • Experience with power zero pressure accumulation, sliding shoe combiners, and Intellisort high-speed sorters
  • Experience with Ambaflex spriral conveyors
  • Experience with Hytrol EZLogic controls programing
  • Familiarity with Cognex or Datalogic camera scanners

Compensation

Role Description

A Retail Specialist is responsible for ensuring assigned customer accounts are consumer ready; this entails stocking the store shelves and cold boxes/coolers with fresh products, by building displays to draw attention to our products, and by providing exceptional service to our retail clients. It’s a role that requires a great deal of organization, customer service and initiative.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain fresh products by stocking and rotating, organizing, and refilling back stocks, cold boxes/coolers, shelves, and displays adhering to all quality and rotation policies.
  • Build displays and executes placement of signage and other merchandising items.
  • Ensure all Standard Beverage SKUs are priced appropriately and meet standards of visibility.
  • Keeps backroom and inventory areas clean and organized. Notifies manager of any product breakage in an account.
  • Walk the account for merchandising opportunities with Standard Beverage portfolio.
  • Complete the retail call and provides feedback to Sales Rep to ensure appropriate inventory levels and exceptional customer service in all assigned accounts.
  • Maintain a professional rapport and image with store personnel and customers.
  • Develop outstanding relationships with customers and co-workers while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Gain expertise and ability to be responsible for a sales route while a rep is on vacation.
  • Strive to continually overtake the competition on every level, individually and as a team with other members of the division/company.
  • Adhere to current route and make all scheduled calls.

 

Requirements

  • High level of integrity, commitment, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the foregoing specified requirements may be considered for substitution.
  • Strong persuasive presentations skills, including the ability to speak before large audiences both internally and externally.
  • Background or experience in the beverage or restaurant/bar industry a plus.
  • Knowledge of the alcoholic beverage industry is helpful.
  • Physical exertion will be necessary to achieve desired levels of account management. The employee must be able to lift products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 175 lbs. when handling kegs.
  • Licenses, Age restrictions:
  • Valid Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record and valid driver license and maintain auto insurance coverage at least to the minimum amount specified by the Company and state law.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment in order to sell alcohol in the state of Kansas.

Standard Beverage is looking for dependable, experienced, results-driven and customer-focused delivery drivers for distribution to retail stores and restaurants across the state of Kansas.  We have opportunities in Lawrence and Wichita, as well as South-East and Western Kansas.  Our drivers are home nightly and enjoy 3-day weekends. Current Class A CDL is required for this job.

Role Description

Our delivery drivers run an established, local route, delivering product to retail stores and restaurants in the State of Kansas. Must possess a class A CDL . This is a VERY physical job. Work schedule is Tuesday through Friday and will very slightly based on holidays or business needs. We offer competitive pay with driver bonuses paid monthly, quarterly, and annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives heavy “straight” truck, PUP or automobile over established route.
  • Pads, stacks and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of hand truck, electric pallet jack or dolly.
  • Rotates stock, lifts and stacks products inside customer premises.
  • Helps maintain or merchandise displays, shelves and cold-boxes.
  • Provides excellent customer service on a daily basis.
  • Collects proper payment (cash or check) for invoice at time of delivery.
  • Records damages, changes and discrepancies on invoices at time of delivery.
  • Meets or exceeds all productivity standards.
  • Interacts with members of the sales and merchandising teams.
  • Collects and returns empty boxes for repackaging of product.
  • Drives in a safe and lawful manner. Maintains an acceptable driving record.
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections on truck and trailer.

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Valid Commercial Drivers License- Class A
    • Medical Examiner’s Certificate – As required by the Department of Transportation
    • Acceptable Motor Vehicle record (MVR)
  • Language:
    • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Mathematical Skills:
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide two and three-digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
  • Physical Demands:
