Standard Beverage is currently hiring experienced oddball picker operators for the night-shift in our Lawrence, Kansas distribution center. Our night-shift employees enjoy a 4-day work week, Monday thru Thursday nights, with weekends off! Our night shift runs from approximately 5:00 pm to 4:00 am, but may end earlier or later depending on volume. Previous demonstrated cherry picker or fork lift experience and current mechanical lift truck certification is required.

Job Description

Position: Oddball picker

 

As an Oddball picker your primary job responsibilities will include:

 

  • Operating a cherry picker to select products from warehouse rack locations and bulk storage locations
  • Picking and stacking product onto pallets using pick labels
  • Moving pallets of product throughout the warehouse and staging at specific drop points
  • Utilizing RF gun to report inventory discrepancies in the warehouse
  • Stacking and sorting empty pallets
  • Performing pre and post-shift equipment inspections
  • Changing, watering and charging equipment batteries as needed
  • Meeting all productivity requirements
  • Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Following standard operating procedures and adhering to all safety standards
  • Cross-training and working other departments as necessary
  • General housekeeping and sanitation tasks will be required

Job responsibilities may include:

· Accurately picking orders on pick lines using printed pick labels, RF guns or voice command software

· Placing individual cases onto conveyor lines while maintaining product quality

· Operating a fork lift or cherry picker to pull product (forklift driver positions only)

· Operating a forklift to replenish picking locations and move product throughout the warehouse

· Loading product securely onto trailers by floor stacking cases and pallets

· Utilize electric pallet jack to load pallets on trailers

· Cross-training and working other departments as necessary

· Meeting all productivity requirements

· Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area

Current Class A CDL is required for this job.

Role Description

Our delivery drivers run an established, local route, delivering product to retail stores and restaurants in the State of Kansas. Must possess a class A CDL . This is a VERY physical job. Work schedule is Tuesday through Friday and will very slightly based on holidays or business needs. We offer competitive pay with driver bonuses paid monthly, quarterly, and annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives heavy “straight” truck, PUP or automobile over established route.
  • Pads, stacks and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of hand truck, electric pallet jack or dolly.
  • Rotates stock, lifts and stacks products inside customer premises.
  • Helps maintain or merchandise displays, shelves and cold-boxes.
  • Provides excellent customer service on a daily basis.
  • Collects proper payment (cash or check) for invoice at time of delivery.
  • Records damages, changes and discrepancies on invoices at time of delivery.
  • Meets or exceeds all productivity standards.
  • Interacts with members of the sales and merchandising teams.
  • Collects and returns empty boxes for repackaging of product.
  • Drives in a safe and lawful manner. Maintains an acceptable driving record.

Requirements

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Valid Commercial Drivers License- Class A
    • Medical Examiner’s Certificate – As required by the Department of Transportation
    • Acceptable Motor Vehicle record (MVR)
  • Language:
    • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Mathematical Skills:
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide two and three-digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
  • Physical Demands:
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk/ use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Occasionally the navigation of stairs is required with a loaded hand truck.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

Role Description

Working under the direction of the Controller, the Assistant Controller will have responsibility for ensuring that financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and that appropriate controls are in place to support key processes across all areas of business.  Primary areas within the scope of this position will be balance sheet management, account reconciliation review, process improvement, financial reporting, internal audit compliance, ad hoc analysis and accounting for inventory and fixed asset purchases as appropriate.

 

Our team strives to produce financial information timely and accurately and to solve problems and help implement solutions, ultimately to increase the company’s overall position and ability to make solid business decisions.

 

 

What you get to do:

  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close of accounting records by adhering to tight deadlines, including reviewing, reconciling, and analyzing results.
  • Manage the creation and production of accurate financial statements (observing GAAP)
  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues to be brought to the Controller and CFO’s attention
  • Assist with weekly payment run preparation and weekly receivable past due follow ups and escalation. Coordinate efforts to ensure vendor master information is updated as needed and supplier partner information is kept current, all maintained in business systems.
  • Bi-weekly payroll cash activities and related month end entries, including intercompany billings and payments.
  • Monthly review of prepaids, associated entries and follow up with other departments as they relate to numerous contracts.
  • Review weekly and monthly inventory reconciliations and provide support for inventory related questions.
  • Collaborate and ensure fixed assets are correctly entered into asset system for additions and retirements.
  • Work with large volumes of data from multiple sources, identify discrepancies and perform variance analysis, monitor and push for final resolution.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for taxes and licenses.
  • Maintain accounting, financial reporting, financial control, and information systems to ensure strong records, appropriate authorizations of transactions, and safeguarding of assets.

 

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 8 years progressive accounting experience; at least 2 years integral to or managing period end close.
  • Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience with coordination and effort necessary to manage multiple inputs, timing of tasks and ad hoc situations which occur during month end close as you and the entire accounting teamwork towards a single close goal.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, analytical, and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Highly detailed oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task several projects on short deadlines
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and open environment
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel experience (spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation).
  • Well-refined customer relations skills reflected in consistent, superior service to internal and external customers.
