Role Description

A Retail Specialist is responsible for ensuring assigned customer accounts are consumer ready; this entails stocking the store shelves and cold boxes/coolers with fresh products, by building displays to draw attention to our products, and by providing exceptional service to our retail clients. It’s a role that requires a great deal of organization, customer service and initiative.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain fresh products by stocking and rotating, organizing, and refilling back stocks, cold boxes/coolers, shelves, and displays adhering to all quality and rotation policies.
  • Build displays and executes placement of signage and other merchandising items.
  • Ensure all Standard Beverage SKUs are priced appropriately and meet standards of visibility.
  • Keeps backroom and inventory areas clean and organized. Notifies manager of any product breakage in an account.
  • Walk the account for merchandising opportunities with Standard Beverage portfolio.
  • Complete the retail call and provides feedback to Sales Rep to ensure appropriate inventory levels and exceptional customer service in all assigned accounts.
  • Maintain a professional rapport and image with store personnel and customers.

Requirements

  • High level of integrity, commitment, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the foregoing specified requirements may be considered for substitution.
  • Strong persuasive presentations skills, including the ability to speak before large audiences both internally and externally.
  • Background or experience in the beverage or restaurant/bar industry a plus.
  • Knowledge of the alcoholic beverage industry is helpful.
  • Physical exertion will be necessary to achieve desired levels of account management. The employee must be able to lift products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 175 lbs. when handling kegs.

Standard Beverage is expanding our Lawrence Distribution facility adding an additional 110,000 sf with the only climate-controlled distribution facility in the area (including air conditioning), state of the art employee lounge with dining area, lockers, private showers and free amenities. Job responsibilities may include:
• Accurately picking orders on pick lines using printed pick labels, RF guns or voice command software

• Operating a forklift to replenish picking locations and move product throughout the warehouse
• Loading product securely onto trailers by floor stacking cases and pallets
• Utilize electric pallet jack to load pallets on trailers
• Cross-training and working other departments as necessary
• Meeting all productivity requirements
• Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area
• Following standard operating procedures and adhering to all safety standards
• General housekeeping and sanitation tasks will be required

Requirements:

Role Description

The primary responsibility of the Category Space Manager is designing and building a category management capability (people, processes, and systems).   The selected individual must be willing and passionate about leading this effort, and enthusiastically embrace a true “role up his/her sleeves” approach in actually doing work and “getting stuff done”.

 

Essential Duties

  • Implement category management system (expect this to be the JDA Space Planning software platform).
  • Identify and implement appropriate processes to create and optimize well-functioning category management capability.
  • Develop and analyze merchandise assortments that deliver overall category growth through a combination of internal merchandising tools coupled with retailer specified guidelines.
  • Analyze retail and market level data to develop planogram schematics.
  • Create relevant product assortments and optimal space planning that drive sales, while working closely with suppliers, key customers, and SBC team members.
  • Educate/train/mentor SBC team members on basic category management fundamentals, and where appropriate, suppliers and key customers.
  • Other responsibilities will include data cleansing, modular management, modular retrieval, reviewing retail and category management guidelines, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but relevant experience accepted.
  • Strong analytical experience.
  • Proficient in JDA Pro Space with 2+ years of hands-on experience.
  • CPG industry experience required with alcoholic beverage background preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide range of individuals with varying knowledge and communication styles.

Sales Leadership Responsibilities

  • Research, track and analyze non-alcohol industry to determine consumer and industry trends to identify new upcoming products, suppliers, and develop and adjust long term strategy.
  • Network to identify, cold call, and follow up with new supplier partners.
  • Sell in new supplier partners on the SBC advantage, negotiate agreements, and on-board.
  • Own the relationship with supplier partners along with developing, executing, and achieving ABP.
  • Own execution of monthly non-alcohol plan to ensure display, pricing, distribution, and shelf set standards are being properly executed at retail to deliver the monthly sales budget and grow sales & share.
  • Work closely with other leaders (Sales VP, Regional Managers, DM’s) to maximize the selling, training and customer service opportunities across the company.
  • Build, develop, and drive strong relationships with supplier partners to improve strategy, pricing, profitability, and growth

Profit & Return Management Responsibilities

  • Drive attainment of targeted dollar goal objectives.
  • Own the P&L for our non-alcohol business including sales budget, expenses (marketing, promotional, pricing) to achieve gross margin targets.
  • Manage expenses and drive financial accountability of NA business unit.

 

Marketing Responsibilities

  • Be the SBC expert on all things non-alcohol including pricing, promotion, marketing agreements, and route to market strategies.
  • Collaborate and participate with chain team to sell in distribution/promotions by owning the knowledge and partnership with suppliers’ guidelines.
  • Drive execution of marketing efforts to ensure they translate into sales, margin and achieve supplier plans in the field by coordinating and supporting supplier visits, surveys and tastings.
  • Work with purchasing team on forecasting sales and ordering.

Standard Beverage is looking for dependable, experienced, results-driven and customer-focused delivery drivers for distribution to retail stores and restaurants across the state of Kansas.  We have opportunities in Lawrence and Wichita, as well as South-East and Western Kansas.  Our drivers are home nightly and enjoy 3-day weekends. Current Class A CDL is required for this job.

Role Description

Our delivery drivers run an established, local route, delivering product to retail stores and restaurants in the State of Kansas. Must possess a class A CDL . This is a VERY physical job. Work schedule is Tuesday through Friday and will very slightly based on holidays or business needs. We offer competitive pay with driver bonuses paid monthly, quarterly, and annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives heavy “straight” truck, PUP or automobile over established route.
  • Pads, stacks and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of hand truck, electric pallet jack or dolly.
  • Rotates stock, lifts and stacks products inside customer premises.
  • Helps maintain or merchandise displays, shelves and cold-boxes.
  • Provides excellent customer service on a daily basis.
  • Collects proper payment (cash or check) for invoice at time of delivery.
  • Records damages, changes and discrepancies on invoices at time of delivery.
  • Meets or exceeds all productivity standards.
  • Interacts with members of the sales and merchandising teams.
  • Collects and returns empty boxes for repackaging of product.
  • Drives in a safe and lawful manner. Maintains an acceptable driving record.

Requirements

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Valid Commercial Drivers License- Class A

Standard Beverage is looking for dependable, experienced, results-driven and customer-focused delivery drivers for distribution to retail stores and restaurants across the state of Kansas.  We have opportunities in Lawrence and Wichita, as well as South-East and Western Kansas.  Our drivers are home nightly and enjoy 3-day weekends. Current Class A CDL is required for this job.

Role Description

Our delivery drivers run an established, local route, delivering product to retail stores and restaurants in the State of Kansas. Must possess a class A CDL . This is a VERY physical job. Work schedule is Tuesday through Friday and will very slightly based on holidays or business needs. We offer competitive pay with driver bonuses paid monthly, quarterly, and annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives heavy “straight” truck, PUP or automobile over established route.
  • Pads, stacks and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of hand truck, electric pallet jack or dolly.
  • Rotates stock, lifts and stacks products inside customer premises.
  • Helps maintain or merchandise displays, shelves and cold-boxes.
  • Provides excellent customer service on a daily basis.
  • Collects proper payment (cash or check) for invoice at time of delivery.
  • Records damages, changes and discrepancies on invoices at time of delivery.
  • Meets or exceeds all productivity standards.
  • Interacts with members of the sales and merchandising teams.
  • Collects and returns empty boxes for repackaging of product.
  • Drives in a safe and lawful manner. Maintains an acceptable driving record.
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections on truck and trailer.

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Valid Commercial Drivers License- Class A
    • Medical Examiner’s Certificate – As required by the Department of Transportation
    • Acceptable Motor Vehicle record (MVR)
  • Language:
    • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Mathematical Skills:
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide two and three-digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
  • Physical Demands:
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk/ use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
