Role Description

A Retail Specialist is responsible for ensuring assigned customer accounts are consumer ready; this entails stocking the store shelves and cold boxes/coolers with fresh products, by building displays to draw attention to our products, and by providing exceptional service to our retail clients.  It’s a role that requires a great deal of organization, customer service and initiative.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain fresh products by stocking and rotating, organizing, and refilling back stocks, cold boxes/coolers, shelves, beer caves and displays adhering to all quality and rotation policies.
  • Build displays and executes placement of signage and other merchandising items.
  • Ensure all Standard Beverage SKUs are priced appropriately and meet standards of visibility.
  • Keeps backroom and inventory areas clean and organized. Notifies manager of any product breakage in an account.
  • Walk the account for merchandising opportunities with Standard Beverage portfolio.
  • Complete the retail call and provides feedback to Sales Rep to ensure appropriate inventory levels and exceptional customer service in all assigned accounts.
  • Maintain a professional rapport and image with store personnel and customers.
  • Develop outstanding relationships with customers and co-workers while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Gain expertise and ability to be responsible for a sales route while a rep is on vacation.
  • Strive to continually overtake the competition on every level, individually and as a team with other members of the division/company.

Requirements

  • High level of integrity, commitment, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the foregoing specified requirements may be considered for substitution.
  • Strong persuasive presentations skills, including the ability to speak before large audiences both internally and externally.
  • Background or experience in the beverage or restaurant/bar industry a plus.
  • Knowledge of the alcoholic beverage industry, including knowledge of beer, beer terms, and beer production process techniques helpful.
  • Passion for beer with the ability to continuously learn new brands and represent effectively to customers.
  • Physical exertion will be necessary to achieve desired levels of account management. The employee must be able to lift products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 175 lbs. when handling kegs.
  • Licenses, Age restrictions:
    • Valid Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record and valid driver license, and maintain auto insurance coverage at least to the minimum amount specified by the Company and state law.
    • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment in order to sell alcohol in the state of Kansas.

Standard Beverage is looking for dependable, experienced, results-driven and customer-focused delivery drivers for distribution to retail stores and restaurants across the state of Kansas.  We have opportunities in Lawrence and Wichita, as well as South-East and Western Kansas.  Our drivers are home nightly and enjoy 3-day weekends. Current Class A CDL is required for this job.

Role Description

Our delivery drivers run an established, local route, delivering product to retail stores and restaurants in the State of Kansas. Must possess a class A CDL . This is a VERY physical job. Work schedule is Tuesday through Friday and will very slightly based on holidays or business needs. We offer competitive pay with driver bonuses paid monthly, quarterly, and annually.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives heavy “straight” truck, PUP or automobile over established route.
  • Pads, stacks and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of hand truck, electric pallet jack or dolly.
  • Rotates stock, lifts and stacks products inside customer premises.
  • Helps maintain or merchandise displays, shelves and cold-boxes.
  • Provides excellent customer service on a daily basis.
  • Collects proper payment (cash or check) for invoice at time of delivery.
  • Records damages, changes and discrepancies on invoices at time of delivery.
  • Meets or exceeds all productivity standards.
  • Interacts with members of the sales and merchandising teams.
  • Collects and returns empty boxes for repackaging of product.
  • Drives in a safe and lawful manner. Maintains an acceptable driving record.
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections on truck and trailer.

 

Requirements

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Valid Commercial Drivers License- Class A
    • Medical Examiner’s Certificate – As required by the Department of Transportation
    • Acceptable Motor Vehicle record (MVR)

 

  • Language:
    • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Mathematical Skills:

Role Description

Standard Beverage is looking for dependable, experienced, results-driven and customer-focused Line Haul drivers for our Lawrence, Kansas distribution center. Our Line Haul drivers enjoy static routes, are home daily, and have 3 day weekends. Current Class A CDL with Doubles and Triple endorsements is required for this job. Work schedule is Monday thru Thursday from approximately 8PM until 6AM, with Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. The Line Haul driver will transfer trailers from our distribution center in Lawrence to a depot in Wichita, Iola, Junction City, Dodge City or Hays, Kansas, and then will drop and hook and return back to the Lawrence distribution center. Must have doubles/triples endorsements and experience pulling doubles/triples to be considered.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Pull double or triple 28′ trailers over an established route.
  • Drop trailers at designated depots and hook empty trailers to return back to our Lawrence, Kansas distribution center the same day.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers.
  • Utilize ELD (Electronic Logging Device) to log and track hours of service.
  • Drive in a safe manner.
  • Follow all state regulatory and D.O.T guidelines.

 

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License

Role Description

Our Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the SBC Transportation Team at our Lawrence KS warehouse and surrounding areas.  They will be responsible for the people, processes and transportation equipment required to meet business demands.  Assuring compliance with DOT regulations within local, state and federal guidelines is a key requirement. This position reports directly to the Transportation Manager and will assist in overseeing approximately 15-25 drivers. This is a very physical job. Work schedule is Monday through Friday and will vary slightly based on holidays or business needs. We offer competitive compensation including a bonus structure.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Direct Oversight of Drivers

  • Open warehouse in the morning to assure drivers are on time, have correct paper work, kegs and load securement.
  • Help drive a culture of teamwork, optimism, continuous improvement and customer focus.
  • On-board new employees, including mentoring and coaching drivers on customer service, safe driving, safe working and what is expected of a Standard Beverage Delivery Driver on a daily basis.
  • Evaluate driver performance in the marketplace
  • Help drive and manage departmental KPI’s and objectives
  • Monitor drivers through the use of two-way communication and GPS units on trucks

 

 

Administrative Duties

  • Route driver assignments and conduct maintenance through Roadnet daily
  • Monitor driver certifications as required by DOT, including medical cards and drivers licenses
  • Monitor driver inspections and follow up as necessary
  • Assist with entering data for scheduling and follow-up of minor truck maintenance
  • Run monthly reports for Delivery Drivers Incentive program

 

 

 

Warehouse Duties

  • Assist with dock pickup and shipping orders as needed
  • Communicate with appropriate personnel and monitor the driver check-in process to assure drivers are following procedures
  • Access to properly close down and lock up the Lawrence Warehouse facility

 

Requirements

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to key in data, type and operate a computer keyboard
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

Role Description

A Retail Specialist is responsible for ensuring assigned customer accounts are consumer ready; this entails stocking the store shelves and cold boxes/coolers with fresh products, by building displays to draw attention to our products, and by providing exceptional service to our retail clients.  It’s a role that requires a great deal of organization, customer service and initiative.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain fresh products by stocking and rotating, organizing, and refilling back stocks, cold boxes/coolers, shelves, beer caves and displays adhering to all quality and rotation policies.
  • Build displays and executes placement of signage and other merchandising items.
  • Ensure all Standard Beverage SKUs are priced appropriately and meet standards of visibility.
  • Keeps backroom and inventory areas clean and organized. Notifies manager of any product breakage in an account.
  • Walk the account for merchandising opportunities with Standard Beverage portfolio.
  • Complete the retail call and provides feedback to Sales Rep to ensure appropriate inventory levels and exceptional customer service in all assigned accounts.
  • Maintain a professional rapport and image with store personnel and customers.
  • Develop outstanding relationships with customers and co-workers while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Gain expertise and ability to be responsible for a sales route while a rep is on vacation.
  • Strive to continually overtake the competition on every level, individually and as a team with other members of the division/company.
  • Adhere to current route and make all scheduled calls.

 

 

Requirements

  • High level of integrity, commitment, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the foregoing specified requirements may be considered for substitution.
  • Strong persuasive presentations skills, including the ability to speak before large audiences both internally and externally.
  • Background or experience in the beverage or restaurant/bar industry a plus.
  • Knowledge of the alcoholic beverage industry, including knowledge of beer, beer terms, and beer production process techniques helpful.
  • Passion for beer with the ability to continuously learn new brands and represent effectively to customers.
  • Physical exertion will be necessary to achieve desired levels of account management. The employee must be able to lift products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 175 lbs. when handling kegs.
  • Licenses, Age restrictions:
    • Valid Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record and valid driver license, and maintain auto insurance coverage at least to the minimum amount specified by the Company and state law.
    • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment in order to sell alcohol in the state of Kansas.
